How does home study work?
Home study has become one of the key ways to get educated in South Africa today. Most students are not able to get study loans, and do not have parents who are able to pay the tuition fees for them. For this reason home study is leading the way in giving people access to education as you can study and work at the same time.
With home study, or distance learning as many people know it, the college will send you your books, and you can then communicate with the college via email, telephone or other means in order to get the support you need to complete your course. You send your assignments into the college for marking, and if it is an accredited course you have to go and write a final exam.
It also means that you get real work experience while you study. Too many graduates get stuck when they apply for their first job because even though they are fully qualified an employer is worried to take them on as they have never had a full time job before.
How it works is quite simple. We will courier your books a few days after registration. We will then support you via phone, email and in your online study groups. We will send you pro active communication like texts and emails, and give you a call when we feel you need extra help or encouragement.
Our lecturers are also in the online study groups daily, so you will have constant access as long as you use the study groups and keeping coming back to contribute and ask questions.
